We're so glad you've discovered

An Extra Slice of Nostalgia Pie - known simply as An Extra Slice -

the sister site to our 1960s-1990s nostalgia site Nostalgia Pie.

We know that you can never have enough nostalgia, so we

decided to take it even further back in time and take  our love of all that is vintage, retro and nostalgic, and put it all into... An Extra Slice of Nostalgia Pie! It's for those of you who have a particular interest in the 1920s-1950s but being the time travellers that we are, don't be surprised if we take things even further back in time!

 

                                                                     When we first started this site, the main focus                                                                                                   was to be on history and popular culture                                                                                                           from the earlier decades of the twentieth                                                                                                          century. But as this site progressed we                                                                                                                realized  just how much we loved the concept                                                                                                    of cozy living; a concept that goes hand in                                                                                                        hand with the subject matter here on An Extra Slice                                                                                   of Nostalgia Pie where we're big fans of simpler,                                                                                                less complicated times.  If you're visiting An                                                                                             Extra Slice of Nostalgia Pie, you probably:

• have a love of all things antique, vintage or retro                                                                   

•   enjoyed listening to your grandparents' stories of times gone by

• have parents or grandparents who collected or dealt in antiques.

• spend your weekends at flea markets, thrift stores and antique fairs.

• wish you could climb into a time machine every time you watch a movie from the 1930s; a TV show set in the 1940s; or listen to a 1950s rock 'n' roll song

•  love old photographs, films and books (and definitely prefer books to eBooks!)

•  enjoy visiting a historic home, museum or art gallery

• love a visit to the opera house, ballet or theatre. 

• are a pro when it comes to victory rolls, pompadours, and winged eyeliner.
